Through autobiographical storytelling, with almost fairy-tale traits, and encounters with some women who populate her life, the author undertakes a brief introspective journey into the mysterious world of eels and the feminine to explore the cycle of life, old age and the theme of memory.

In the days leading up to her late best friend’s birthday and death anniversary, a young woman teeters between celebration and sorrow, reflecting on how early loss shaped her very understanding of the world.
